Edgeband materials (ABS-, PMMA-, PP-, PVC edgeband)
Our products (ABS edgebands, PMMA edgebands, PP edgebands and PVC edgebands) are produced exclusively from top quality plastics. Special test methods are used for the plastic edgebands to extensively test all materials before start of manufacture. The test methods for the edgeband materials in turn are compliant with the stringent specifications and quality standards demanded in the furniture industry. SURTECO GmbH customers will therefore always receive products made of the highest quality plastics available on the market.
This page will give you an overview of edgeband materials used for Döllken edgebands. Alternatively, simply select your material in the Edgeband Finder and list all the available edgebands.
ABS-Edgeband
ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene)
ABS is an impact resistant, mechanically and thermally robust high grade thermoplastic synthetic material with a positive eco balance. This chlorine-free plastic has a history of successful application in the furniture industry spanning more than 20 years. The outstanding features of ABS in terms of application, processing and disposal have all contributed to its broad market penetration, especially in furniture production.

PMMA-Edgeband
Acrylic (PMMA = Polymethyl methacrylate)
PMMA is a high grade thermoplastic material that has proven its worth and is setting new technical and aesthetic standards as Döllken 3D edgebands for furniture edging. The transparency of the acrylic furthermore exceeds that of glass.

PP-Edgeband
PP (Polypropylene)
PP is a semi-crystalline plastic used primarily in pipe extrusion and in the packaging industry. Over the past decade, this chlorine-free material has also become increasingly popular as an alternative to the traditional PVC and ABS materials used in the furniture industry. Although polypropylene has an advantage of simple disposal, processing will require optimised machine settings.

PVC-Edgeband
PVC (Polyvinyl chloride)
PVC is one of our best known and most common plastics today. Thanks to its outstanding properties, this material has also been successfully used in the manufacture of edgebands for the furniture industry for more than 40 years. The excellent processing characteristics of PVC in particular have contributed to its penetration of the furniture manufacturing market.
